As Technical Director I am responsible for the execution of all live performances on our stages. We currently do 50+ touring productions a year as well as 10-15 community events. I am also responsible for running crews during productions, advancing shows, budgeting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and fulfilling production demands. Currently, I teach an intern class for Heartland Career Center teaching technical theatre. I am also helping renovate Eagles Theatre, a 1906 theatre into an updated facility with up to date rigging, audio and lighting.
Assistant Technical Director- Utah Symphony |Utah Opera

As Assistant Technical Director I was responsible for the preparation and running of the technical aspects of the four to five operas per season. Preparation for the opera includes drafting the scenery and planning scene changes. Once in the theatre I ensured load in went in smoothly and everything was prepared for rehearsals. Running crew was my responsibility which could be anywhere from two to ten union stage hands. Other duties at the opera included drafting projects for the scene shop, running crews in the warehouse, bidding on projects and keeping the inventory current. I also supervised the summer Symphony Chamber series at St. Mary’s Church as well as projects for our clients such as Stampin’ Up and Sundance Film Festival.
Technical Director- Playhouse on the Square

As Technical Director I was responsible for all set construction, drafting and implementation for 3 theatres. The seasons consisted of 16 to 18 shows which allowed me to be TD for over 40 productions. I had 1 staff member and 5 interns who helped with the construction and set up. Collaboration with the guest scenic designers who designed the shows was a major part of my job. I was responsible for the construction drafting, budgets, scheduling and any safety concerns. Additionally, I had input on
outfitting the new theatre and was responsible for choosing the tools and setting up the new scene shop.
Assistant Technical Director- Butler University- Theatre and Dance

As the Assistant Technical Director I was responsible for the lighting department for the Theatre and Dance Departments. I had a crew of about 20 students per semester who would help with the light hangs and set up. I assisted with set construction and all the metal work in the scene shop. Additionally, I taught the lighting portion of the Intro to Stagecraft Class which all freshmen were required to take.
